YepMatch

Privacy Policy

Last updated

YepMatch doesn't ask you to sign up, and there are no accounts. It builds and checks your schedule in your browser. It uses Google Analytics to count visits and how often schedules are made, printed, and shared. This page explains what information is handled when you visit and who is responsible for it.

Who is responsible

YepMatch is run by Masaaki Morishita, who decides how the information described on this page is used. For questions about it, email hello@yepmatch.com.

What you enter

The schedule tools make the schedule and its checks in your browser. They don't send what you enter (the number of players or teams, their names, courts, rounds, whether to balance byes, start time, match length, and the seed) to a server, and YepMatch doesn't save it.

So that a link reopens the same schedule, the tools put your settings, including the names you entered and the seed, in the page's address (the part after the ?). Anyone you share the address with can see them, and your browser may keep the address in its history. When you open or reload an address that holds them, when someone you shared it with opens it, or when you go from that page to another YepMatch page (as the address of the page you came from), Cloudflare, which hosts the site, receives the full address and may record it in its logs. Google Analytics receives the address without that part.

Visit statistics

YepMatch uses Google Analytics 4, a service from Google, to see which pages are visited and how often the schedule tools are used. It sets two cookies on this site for up to two years: _ga holds a random identifier for your browser, so that repeat visits can be counted, and _ga_ followed by an ID keeps track of your current visit.

It records information such as the page you visit, the site that linked to it, your approximate location (country, region, and city, worked out from your IP address), your browser and its language, your operating system, device type, and screen size, the time of your visit, whether you scroll to the bottom of a page, and the links you follow to other sites, including their addresses. When a tool shows a schedule, when you use one of its print buttons, and when you use Copy link, it records which of these happened, the format (such as round robin), and a range for the number of players or teams (such as 5-8). It doesn't record the names you enter, the link you copied, or the seed. Google Analytics doesn't log or store IP addresses.

To stop Google Analytics from collecting data in your browser, install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. See Google's privacy policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services for how Google handles this information.

Hosting

YepMatch is hosted on Cloudflare. To deliver pages, report pages that fail to load, and protect the site from attacks, Cloudflare processes technical information about each request, such as your IP address, your browser, and the address requested. If Cloudflare needs to check that a visitor isn't a bot, it may set a cookie for that check. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for how it handles this information.

Advertising

YepMatch doesn't show ads and doesn't use advertising cookies.

Email

If you email hello@yepmatch.com, Cloudflare Email Routing forwards the message to the operator's inbox. Your email address and message are used only to read and act on what you sent. They aren't sold or used for marketing.

YepMatch isn't directed at children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect personal information from them.
