About YepMatch

Yep. Matched.

Round robin schedules and tournament brackets, by players, courts, and rounds. YepMatch makes round robin schedules, rotating doubles schedules, and single and double elimination brackets from the number of players or teams, their names, and the courts and rounds you have. Each schedule comes with checks that count it again, separately from the code that made it: how many matches each player has, whether anyone is booked twice in a round, and how often players are partners, opponents, or sitting out. You can print a full schedule and a card for each player, and a link reopens the same schedule. No sign-up, no account. Schedules are made in your browser.

Round robin schedules use the circle method, and with an odd number of teams a placeholder is added and whoever meets it sits out, as FIDE's regulations count the highest number as a bye. Single elimination brackets put byes in the slot numbers given by the bye placement tables of the Badminton World Federation (BWF). Double elimination brackets use the same winners bracket as single elimination. Where each loser goes follows the Little League approved brackets for 4, 8, 16, and 32 teams, used for every number of players with the same number of slots. Rotating doubles schedules come from a search. Its targets are based on whist tournaments, a known design where each two players are partners exactly once and opponents exactly twice. Such a design exists only for some numbers of players and rounds, so YepMatch doesn't build one directly. It works out a lower bound from your entries and searches toward it, and the checks show how often partners and opponents actually repeat. The How Schedules Are Made and Checked page explains each format, what the checks count, and the sources.
